April MOTM: Kay Lyle Intro to Letterpress
Join Kay Lyle of Manicule Studio for a hands-on "Intro to Letterpress" workshop. The workshop will cover the basics of setting vintage wood type, applying ink, and printing small posters combining text, ornaments and images.
Letterpress printing is an approachable entry into the arts of design and printmaking, and a fun way to get your message out there!
Kay spoke in her artist interview about teaching letterpress printing. “I love teaching letterpress because it is a very accessible way to enter both printmaking and graphic design. Usually, in two to three hours, people can leave with a small stack of their own posters. It's a way for people to express themselves not just symbolically, but actually in the words they want to put down.
